The children in the mission were found living on the streets of Thika.  They are orphaned or have been abandoned and faced danger every day in their search for food.  When a child is brought to the mission home, he/she becomes a member of the family.  Donations are used to provide the child with a safe home, three meals every day, an education, medical and dental care, basic necessities, and a chance to be a child. John Ochieng, our mission supervisor, and his wife Caroline provide ongoing counseling, guidance, and Christian instruction for the children. One hundred percent of every donation is used for the education and support of the children under the umbrella of Jan’s Mission.  Money is used for clothing, shoes, bedding, toiletries, school supplies, medical care, and school fees.  No money is used for administrative expenses or salaries. I have retired to South Pasadena, Florida and make annual trips to Kenya to visit the young people supported through this mission.  You can contact me at  Our mission is to get Kenya's orphaned and abandoned children off the streets  We have two new family members!  Juliet and her little brother Hope were seen on the street in Thika searching for food.  Their street mother had moved on to another town and left them behind, a common occurrence in Kenya.  So these two little ones were brought to our mission home, given clean clothes, and given plenty to eat.  They shared beds with our other children and got a good night's sleep in a soft, clean bed.  Safe at last!         With the support of Alma, Larry, and Diane, Juliet will get fed each month and her school fees are paid for the entire year.  Thank you to all who are helping get this beautiful child started in her new life.
