James Berry has over 20 years of digital media experience focusing on web, streaming video, broadcast video and interactive TV technologies. Berry joined thelab as Executive Technical Producer in July of 2010.
Prior to thelab, Berry founded LogicEngine Studios in 2003, working with clients such as Condé Nast, Buick, Atari, and IFC. While at LogicEngine, Berry helped to design and build the Emmy nominated Optimum Autos Interactive TV channel for Cablevision.
While working for Chris Blackwell (founder of Island Records who discovered artists such as U2, Bob Marley, Melissa Ethridge), as VP of Creative Technology from 1998 to 2003, Berry worked on promotional efforts such as websites for award-winning films, viral campaigns for the first-ever original web series "We Deliver" (as featured in WIRED magazine) and the Webby award-winning music/film/anime site sputnik7.com. Berry was responsible for the creative direction, user interface technologies, and product design of sputnik7 and ensured that all content presented on the site was in line with the company’s creative vision.
Prior to joining sputnik7, Mr. Berry was Senior Producer and founding member of the Interactive Media group at Siegel & Gale, a world leader in branding and strategic communications. His responsibilities included management, creative direction, technical direction, programming and production of web sites and CD-ROM projects for companies such as Coca-Cola, American Express, The Weather Channel, IBM, and Netscape.
Berry also founded CDA Interactive in 1992, one of the first Interactive development companies in New York, and the first company in New York City to offer Video Compression services for CD-ROM and web projects.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I have many more projects that I have worked on over the years and can provide access to an older site representing a larger breadth of work if there is interest. Thank you for stopping by!
