J. Nelson & Company LLC began in San Rafael in 1974 as J. Nelson Piano and Organ, representing Conn and Allen organs, as well as Mason and Hamlin, Sohmer and Everett / Cable-Nelson pianos. John Nelson was the founder and original owner. In the early 1980’s the showroom moved from San Rafael to Park Boulevard in Oakland. By this time we were no longer selling Conn organs. In the late 1980’s we stopped selling pianos to concentrate fully on the expanding church and theatre organ markets, and changed the name to J. Nelson & Company and became the exclusive Allen Organ representative in Northern California. In 2010, John Nelson retired and sold the business to long-time friend and associate Rob Lindquist. The name of the business changed to J. Nelson & Company LLC, and the Oakland showroom was closed and we opened a new showroom in Livermore, with easy freeway access and ample parking. We typically have several new Allen organs in the showroom, and often a few recent used organs as well. The showroom is open by appointment, so please call ahead if you’d like to pay us a visit. In addition to Allen Organ sales and rentals, we are the factory-authorized service facility for Northern California, and have a very complete stock of repair parts to handle most service needs. – Allen organs are the world’s most reliable. And, when required, Allen provides incomparable service through local dealers supported by factory service experts. As the only authorized Allen Organ representatives in Northern California, we are uniquely qualified to maintain and service your Allen organ. With a factory-trained service technician, most replacement parts in stock for all Allen digital organs, and direct access to the Allen factory service staff, we’re in a position to handle all of your service needs.
