Let us help protect what matters most. The J. Byrne Agency has been in the insurance business since 1946. Over the years we have grown from a small agency working with a limited number of local businesses, to a substantial firm handling every type of personal & commercial insurance throughout the northeast region, and now numerous states across the US. Five of our offices are located in Cape May County, NJ. John J. Byrne founded the firm in 1946, called Sparks and Byrne at the time. He entered the agency business after a long and successful career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Several years later, Spark and Byrne split and the firm became known as John J. Byrne Insurance. James A. Byrne, son of John, joined the firm in 1958. A new corporation was formed: The J. Byrne Agency, Inc. James Byrne was an active leader in the insurance business for five decades. He served as president of the County Agents Association as well as the Independent Agents of New Jersey (IIABNJ). In 1982, Thomas P. Byrne joined the agency and is now the President of the company. Tom graduated from Rutgers University and obtained a diploma in Risk Management from the College of Insurance in Manhattan.
