J. Burns Construction, LLC was founded by Jonathan H. Burns in Valdosta in 2001. Since this time we have grown into a medium size firm that completes a wide array of projects with a variety of delivery systems. Custom homes and renovations remain the focus of our business as we adapt to the challenging economy. Bathroom and Kitchen renovations have always been a large part of our business and we have recently completed several pool and pool house additions. With the improvements in siding and window materials in the last several years, exterior renovations including siding and window replacements have become a larger part of our business. Outdoor living spaces, including outdoor kitchens and sitting areas, have also become more popular in the last several years. We can develop a plan for you, refine an existing plan, or work directly with your plans or designer to complete your project. Our in house design team is dedicated to thoughtful designs that are tailored to your individual needs. Whether it is a new custom home, renovation, addition to an existing home, or historical preservation, our expertise and dedication to each client sets us apart from our competitors. We also do light commercial building and remodeling. We are fully insured and have a general contractor’s license in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. After graduating from Valdosta High School, Jonathan attended Auburn University where he enrolled in the school of Architecture and Design. After deciding that he wanted to learn more about the structural side of construction, he changed majors and received a degree of Bachelor of Science in Building Construction. Following graduation from Auburn, Jonathan’s interest in carpentry led him to begin his career in residential construction as he began working for a large remodeling firm in the Atlanta area. During this time in Atlanta, Jonathan gained valuable experience working with many architects and designers on a variety of projects that were featured in industry publications and received several trade awards. Jonathan moved back to Valdosta and founded J. Burns Construction, LLC in 2001. Formed on the principles of honesty, integrity and customer satisfaction, the firm has maintained this focus as it has grown. It is these qualities that have allowed it to survive the challenging times the industry has faced in the last several years. During his time off, Jonathan enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife and two children. Vickie joined J. Burns Construction, LLC in May 2008 as our office manager when she and her husband, Ronnie, moved back to Lowndes County after being away from Valdosta for 30 years due to Ronnie’s military career. She and her family spent 19 years in Panama City where she began her career in the construction business. She is a graduate of Lowndes High School where she majored in business education and has a Secretarial Degree from Valdosta Technical College. Vickie now has 15 years of experience in this industry and has made a great impact by keeping the office running smoothly. Vickie keeps us all organized and also assists Jonathan with many duties which allows him to concentrate his time on the jobsites and with clients. We are blessed to have her on our team as office manager as our business continues to expand. Our crew is a combination of several expert carpenters with a few young ones who are quickly moving in the direction of veterans. This group works together to overcome the many challenges they are faced with on a daily basis. They possess a variety of skills that enable them to carefully craft quality products in a wide range of areas. The professionalism, care, and concern for their work is evident in all that they do.
