Philip Mezey is Itron’s president and CEO. With roots in the San Francisco bay area, a passion for how efficiency can improve economic vitality, and deep insights into the power of technology, software and services, he is uniquely positioned to lead Itron on our mission of creating a more resourceful world.
Philip Mezey was appointed president and chief executive officer and named to Itron's board of directors on January 1, 2013. Mezey has served the company in several capacities during his career at Itron, most recently as chief operating officer for Itron's global Energy segment, with responsibility for the operations of Itron's electricity and gas businesses around the world. He also previously served as senior vice president and chief operating officer — Itron North America, group vice president and general manager, as well as senior vice president for Software Solutions. Upon Itron's acquisition of Silicon Energy in 2003, Mezey joined the company as managing director of Software Development for Itron's Energy Management Solutions group.
Prior to joining Silicon Energy in 2000 as vice president, Software Development, Mezey was a founding member and served 12 years with Indus, a provider of integrated asset and customer management software. Mezey earned his BA degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley.
With more than twenty years of international executive management experience in sales, product management, marketing and new business category and creation, Ayse Ildeniz is Chief Operating Officer for Silver Spring Networks. In this role, she is responsible for global operations and strategy including overseeing Silver Spring’s global sales, marketing, product management, manufacturing and global delivery functions.
Ayse joins Silver Spring from Intel Corporation, where she was Vice President of the New Devices Group and General Manager of strategy and business development, leading a team charged with creating groundbreaking IoT devices and technologies. During her tenure at Intel, she held a variety of leadership roles including as the Regional Director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa, a region consisting of 67 countries. In this role, she quadrupled Intel’s business in the region by building out country expansions and establishing businesses in new segments. Ildeniz joined Intel as the marketing director for the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa region, then served as the Intel Turkey country manager before assuming responsibility for the entire region.
Ildeniz leads a number of social responsibility projects globally and regionally. She serves on the board of American Turkish Society; Turkish Informatics Foundation; and the Advisory Board of Women Entrepreneurs Association; and attends G20 summits. She is the founder of the Women in IT Platform in Turkey; is a 2010 Eisenhower fellow and member of the International Women Forum. Ildeniz was selected IT Woman of the Year in 2004 and Female Executive of the Year in 2006 in Turkey. In 2015, she was listed as one of the top 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company magazine; and stands third on the most influential Turkish-American Women 2015 list.
In 2016, she won the prestigious ‘Leaders Shaping the Future Award’ by Turkish Public Relations Association; holds a honorary recognition award by Middle East Technical University Senate for her work in the field of technology and education. Ildeniz priorly served as the vice chair of the technology committee for OECD in Paris; headed TUSIAD’s innovation group and served on the Turkish American Business Council.
