Isotope 244 is an independent developer of games for iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Windows based in Tampa, FL USA. It was founded by James Bryant in 1999. Isotope 244 is best known for developing strategy and action games for both desktop and mobile devices. The company has received numerous awards for its real-time strategy and action games. 5BY5 Brain Game was released in Q1. Plucking Birds was released in Q2. Development on Acky's Breakout Reloaded then began. In Q3 Machines at War 3 received an update on Windows and Mac, and the game was released on Steam. A Kickstarter campaign was run for Acky's Breakout Reloaded. A shift in platform support was achieved in Q4 when the Isotope 244's internal game engine, the Atom Engine, was made compatible with Marmalade, a cross platform API providing an abstraction layer to easily port Isotope 244's games to Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Ouya, Tizen, LG Smart TV, and Roku. Isotope 244 released Machines at War 3, which was in development for 18 months. The RTS is the third game in a series started over five years ago. Mac OS X and Windows versions were released first, then for iOS. The new release adds many long time requested features such as network multiplayer and a campaign mode with a full story and characters. Isotope 244's game Land Air Sea Warfare garnered many positive reviews and was even selected by Apple Inc. as the first iPad Game of the Week. Land Air Sea Warfare was selected as a featured game by Apple and climbed the App Store charts to the top 10 in many categories, and was the #1 grossing app in Germany and 12 other countries. Atomic Cannon Pocket is a notable turn-based strategy game available for Mac, Windows, and the Pocket PC. It was the top selling game on Handango for several months and won several awards including PocketGear's Editors Choice, Handango Champion Award, Best PDA Ground Game, and winner of the Pocket PC Magazine 2005 Best Game Award. This was notable since a game produced by one person beat out many AAA games which were made by teams with six and seven figure budgets. Isotope 244 was a leading developer of 3D screensavers from 1999 to 2007 with installs on over 3 million computers worldwide.
