The mission was to meet customers' security needs by focusing on providing solutions versus selling products. By 2004, the company grew to more than 40 employees with offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Frederick, Maryland. Intertech Security became positioned for greater growth and stability with the merger of two security providers whose primary business was in residential and small commercial markets. In addition to quality employees and customers, this merger allowed Intertech Security to offer monitoring services directly to clients. Simultaneous to the merger, Ron Petnuch became president and CEO. Chris Wetzel continued in an executive role and two highly-experienced managers in sales and operations joined the company to enhance the executive team. The goal was to grow the company organically and via acquisition and to achieve a more equal ratio of revenue from projects, maintenance and monitoring. Intertech Security purchased Equip in Frederick, Maryland. The acquisition strengthened the company's presence in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Intertech Security acquired Hi Tech House in Naples, Florida, to provide more comprehensive service to existing customers in West and Southwest Florida. Intertech Security opened offices in Texas. The new locations in Houston and San Antonio enabled Intertech Security to better serve existing customers in Texas while gaining new customers in one of the fastest-growing regions of the country. Intertech Security purchased Accent ESI with offices in Pittsburgh and Akron, Ohio. The new associates to Intertech Security brought expanded expertise to the company in the areas of fire systems, audiovisual systems, networking and communications. The acquisition gave Intertech Security a significant presence in the K-12 education market as well as a stronger relationship with architects and engineers. Intertech Security changed its name to Intertech Ci. The "Ci" stands for Comprehensive Integration. The new name accurately reflects the breadth of technology services provided for customers and the expertise in systems integration provided by Intertech Ci. Ron is the strategic leader of the company. He is responsible for setting long-term goals, developing key business objectives, and achieving corporate goals. Ron is an attorney who has held senior positions in sales and marketing at one of the nation's largest mutual fund companies. Ron strongly believes that Chris co-founded Intertech Security in 2000. His primary roles are business development, vendor relations, and industry liaison. He has extensive experience in the electronic security field designing integrated systems for public venues, corporate centers, university campuses, airports, laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and more. Chris takes great pride in utilizing his technical knowledge and understanding the role of technology to improve the security, safety, communication, and operational efficiency of clients.
