INTERNATIONAL EXPLORERS SOCIETY, INC., MIAMI

ABOUT INTERNATIONAL EXPLORERS SOCIETY Mission The International Explorers Society (IES) serves in making detailed travel arrangements for its participating members. Our mission is to foster cultural interaction and exploration through customized tours to unusual destinations, coupled with extraordinary educational itineraries. Our mission is further enhanced as we design unique personal "people-to-people" encounters and experiences based on input and feedback from each of our participating members. IES excels in the meticulous planning of educational tours designed for academic, non-profit and professional organizations.  IES also specializes in Personal Journeys for small groups of participants, including Cuban-Americans seeking to reconnect with the island nation. We welcome you to join IES on our next adventure. The International Explorers Society was founded in 1976 by Sir William Franz Spohrer, Knight of the Lion of Finland, and Jim Woodman. It was established for the purpose of promoting exploration and furthering the knowledge of geography, archeology, anthropology and other related fields through expeditions, field trips and research projects. IES founders believed that the adventure of exploration and discovery should be available to all who posses an inquiring mind and daring spirit, whether they are experienced explorers, academic specialists, thoughtful armchair researchers or simply interested amateurs. History has shown that enthusiastic laymen often contribute elements overlooked by the experts. In that spirit, a new generation of explorers is focusing on Cuba. Under the direction of Victoria Montoro, exploration of Cuba's art, architecture, culture and nature, within the current laws, started in 2016. The Society's many expeditions to remote locations in the Caribbean, Central and South America were carefully documented in the Journal of the International Explorers Society. Past expeditions include: Cuidad Blanca in Honduras, Nazca Plains in Peru, Stones of Imhotep, Idols and Petroglyphs of Nicaragua among many others.
