As an ordained minister with many years of experience working with youth in his ministry, Mr. Tipton thought it would be an excellent idea to provide a more identifiable ministry to the youth in the community. June 1997, Inter-City Upbeat, Inc. became a nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Florida. Inter-City Upbeat, know how important it is to provide community social outreach services to individual(s), youth, teens, adults and families. Inter-City Upbeat, know that the foundation of any successful program can only be brought with a strong spiritual understanding of those who are in spiritual, social, and economic needs. Inter-City Upbeat, Inc. was born to provide two messages: One, to show the community that we can identify with those who are hurting. Two, to affiliate closely with those who are in spiritual, social, and economic needs. Now that we have given birth to Inter-City upbeat, Inc. it is time to develop its growth. : We are working hard to improve the quality of life for our youth and families. Our vision is to become one of many preferred providers of social and economic services that satisfy the domestic and spiritual needs of our community. We are on a mission To motivate youth to become productive citizens of the community To encourage responsible decision making and healthy living To successfully accomplish our mission Develop and implement a career placement plan with community businesses through on-site tours and education with employers Provide a nurturing, supportive environment that encourages freedom of self-expression Provide opportunities to promote the growth of self-confidence and optimism, to enhance self-esteem We value the family as the primary source of community and children’s development and growth. Our youth make up the family and the family makes up the community. Today’s families are far different from the families of the past. There are fewer extended families and in increasing number of single parent families. Families are constantly changing addresses making it difficult for the children to develop a sense of stability. Families are experiencing more stress including child abuse, drug abuse, and crime. We applaud families that create caring communities. We offer assistance by providing essential services that are accessible to the economically disadvantage citizen at high-risk. We collaborate with residents, agencies, government, and businesses in establishing programs that are relevant to the needs of the community. An objective of Inter-City Upbeat, Inc. is to show that carefully structured services, security of stabilized housing, caring, concern, and support of a community based help center will enhance and substantially improve even the most unstable and dysfunctional individual or family. We are committed to strengthening the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of children, youth, adults, and community by moving them forward toward becoming healthy, confident and productive citizens.
