Jeff manages The Zebra's performance-based media buying deals. He loves building relationships and using data to optimize for long-term mutual profit. Jeff loves to travel the globe and is a major foodie. You will usually find him at the newest restaurant in town, researching some adventurous recipe or testing out an obscure cooking technique. The Z Team loves having Jeff at company potlucks. Eli loves to solve tough problems that matter. At the Zebra, he gets to do that in spades as a "multiclass" engineer-product manager, translating business needs into beautiful code. At home, you might find him whipping up soy sauce chicken, constructing forts for his two kids, binging on Game of Thrones with his wife, or committing code to his "passion project" – an online platform for tackling social issues. Joshua's expertise in the world of cars goes beyond insurance; he's been an auto mechanic since he was 12 and now tinkers with cars as a (relevant and helpful!) hobby. Joshua considers himself an Austin newbie and is always looking to explore the city via different kinds of music and new tasty IPAs. He's also very outgoing and has given his teammates fair warning that he's a huge fan of pranks. Maria's goal is to make The Zebra experience the best it can be for all users. Originally from Belarus, Maria brings her love of Russian musical and literature to The Zebra's Austin HQ. When she's not making sure The Zebra is operating in tip-top shape, Maria can be found crafting, taking in natural beauty at the aquarium and local museums, or spending time with her pets: two dogs and a cat. Steve has spent his career making the process of getting insurance seamless for consumers – no easy feat. Originally from Pennsylvania, Steve has lived in every corner of the country – the Midwest, the West and Gulf Coasts, the Smokies – and now he's settled "deep in the heart of Texas." When not making insurance sales ever-more-fun, Steve explores Austin's running trails and plans his next trip to the cabin in the woods. Dan comes from a diverse background in digital marketing helping people understand large data sets and where to focus their efforts. Some would say he is a data translator. When he isn't compiling large sets of data Dan enjoys working out, true crime podcasts, and cooking different cuisines from around the world. As a foodie at heart, he's always on the lookout for new restaurant gems around Austin. Deji is a true renaissance man: astrophysics enthusiast, karate black belt, and backend developer, he has a knack for making complex tech understandable to not-so-techie folks. On weekends you can find him catching up on Game of Thrones, mountain biking, sailing, or reading about pulsars and nebulas. Lade is among the many talented preservers of TheZebra.com's back-end magic, helping churn out money-saving quotes and timely estimates for drivers. When this bespectacled dev isn't coding behind a screen with music blasting through his headphones, he's exploring his newfound interest in product development. Lade also enjoys writing short fictional stories, reading DC comics, and cycling. Caryn is a make-awesome-stuff and solve-all-the-problems developer, clearly a splendid fit for the Z Team. Though she originally got a degree in business from the University of Florida ("Go Gators!...sorry" – her words), she started dabbling in development and loved it. Caryn is also "seriously" into all things food and drink, and spends much of her time cooking, baking, mixing, climbing, and playing with her crazy dog. Aaron has built his career in direct sales and especially enjoys The Zebra's atmosphere and mission to provide the best services in the auto insurance industry. He hails from Columbia, Missouri, "the jewel of the Midwest," and has thus, he says, been raised properly. (We get our etiquette tips from him.) Aaron enjoys time with his lovely wife and The Most Adorable Child in the Universe, who happens to be their son. A favorite hobby? Digging though rows of vinyl and discovering dusty old jazz and funk albums. Dan has been an agent with The Zebra for over three years. He's known to some as "Dapper Dan" for his sharp office style—and making some of us look bad in comparison. Originally from the midwest, Dan was drawn to Austin for its rich music scene. When he's not at work or a catching a live local show, Dan spends his time cooking, biking, and watching his beloved Green Bay Packers. Michael spent a good portion of his life writing and deploying enterprise software before he found the cool kids at The Zebra. Now he spends his days ensuring TheZebra.com is as secure and easy to use as possible. A native Texan, Michael lived in L.A. and New York before the Austin lifestyle lured him back home with the smell of BBQ. At home he splits his time between chasing his kids and making stuff for them to break. Product Manager Neil is The Zebra’s resident insurance nerd providing our online consumers with tips, tricks, and hacks to help navigate the ever-murky world of car insurance. He’s been with The Zebra so long that he’s starting to develop stripes of his own. Neil is a Texan by birth and Austinite by choice. He likes cowboy boots and flat-billed hats, music and lasers, and generally keeping things weird. Zilker Brewing Company beverages and Texas Longhorn football are the way to his heart. Jessie’s especially passionate about helping The Zebra shake up the insurance industry, and her roots in the insurance and finance world make her a pro at matching insurance companies with the right consumers. Originally from small-town Montana, Jessie currently resides in sunny San Diego, where—when she's not visiting her team in Austin or meeting with The Zebra’s business partners—she soaks up the sun at the beach, plays volleyball and surfs. Mark lives, eats, and breathes code, web application development, architecture, and databases. He geeks out (Geek? Surely not!) on scalability, security, and performance. While he lives happily in the command-line hills, he listens closely to the product wizards to help realize their visions. Mark bicycles home to chase his two boys, relax with his wife, explore the local rivers, dig a vegetable garden, or cold shoot some hoops.
