INOGEN,INC., GOLETA

Inogen was founded based on our conviction that oxygen therapy technology was not keeping pace with the desired lifestyles of patients who depended on it to live longer, more fulfilling lives. We estimate that more than 2.5 million patients in the United States and more than 4.5 million patients worldwide use oxygen therapy. Our compact, lightweight and travel-approved portable oxygen concentrators are designed to free patients from heavy tanks, managing tank refills or being tethered to stationary systems. We believe our products allow patients to reclaim their freedom and independence so that life can be lived in moments, not in minutes left in an oxygen tank. With each step we take to improve our products and service, our customers take another step toward more freedom. OUR MISSION STATEMENT Inogen is innovative oxygen. We are committed to increasing the freedom and independence of oxygen therapy patients through innovative products and services. Ali, Brenton, and Byron founded Inogen to improve the life of Mae, a beloved grandmother, and the millions of individuals like her using supplemental oxygen therapy. In 2001, as students at the University of California Santa Barbara, the trio received first place honors at a business plan competition sponsored by the Technology Management Program. Subsequently, Mae was presented the first Inogen One in October 2004 and we knew immediately that we’d done something right. Her reaction? “Better than anything I could have ever hoped for.” Today Inogen is committed to improving the lives of millions of oxygen therapy users like Mae worldwide. Inogen, Inc., manufacturer of the Inogen One Family of Portable Oxygen Concentrators, was founded in 2001 to develop a better solution for oxygen therapy users, providing them with freedom and independence. Mae was the inspiration behind Inogen. A beloved grandmother unwilling to accept the status quo of her COPD and the oxygen therapy solutions available, Mae’s candid observations and longing for improved quality of life provided the impetus for Inogen to create a better oxygen therapy solution for her and the millions of oxygen users like her worldwide. Without Mae, Inogen would not exist. After serving as unofficial consultant during its development, Mae was presented the first Inogen One in October 2004. And we knew immediately that we’d done something right. Her reaction? “Better than anything I could have ever hoped for.” Today we are Inogen – a cohesive team of entrepreneurs, technologists, clinicians, and home healthcare veterans dedicated to producing innovative oxygen therapy solutions to respiratory home healthcare challenges. Mae still inspires everything that Inogen does as a company. Even more so, Mae is an inspiration for each of us as individuals. Not afraid to ask questions, or to continually seek a better life, Mae refused to settle for the mediocre. Always looking towards the future and asking “why not,” Mae challenged Inogen to be inquisitive and innovative and to commit to the delivery of better solutions for oxygen therapy users -both for today, and for tomorrow. Inogen is reliable, trusted, and proven.
