Novel ionic conjugates of vasoconstrictor epinephrine such as epinephrine saccharinate and epinephrine accesulfamate have also been developed. Novel ionic conjugates are sweet-tasting, have higher pH values than the original hydrochloride salts (and therefore are less painful when injected) and are as safe to use as anesthetics.
