In 1995, we were wrapping up significant business turnarounds at our respective nonprofit employers. The organizations were thriving and we were both ready for a fresh set of challenges. Building on our previous business turnaround successes and successful teamwork, we created Nonprofit Finance Pros. Ready for a new challenge, Marci joined forces with Pam Williams and created Nonprofit Finance Pros (formerly Nonprofit Financial Management Solutions) to focus on providing turnaround strategy consulting for organizations in financial transition or crisis, concluding most projects by hiring highly-qualified financial leaders. Over the past 16 years, she has developed a proven search process, sourcing candidates with the perfect blend of skills, talent and experience to meet the needs of her client organizations while simultaneously developing an extensive network of financial professionals. She is committed to helping your organization hire not only the best talent, but also the person who is the best fit for your unique culture and mission. Marci has provided career and executive coaching for the American Society of Association Executives, the Center for American Nurses, the Association for Women in Science and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and has facilitated programs for the University of South Florida Professional and Workforce Development and Get on Board, a training program for prospective board members. Marci loves working with nonprofits so much that she once turned down a very lucrative offer from a multi-millionaire and his wife to manage their investments. While the offer was tempting, if only for a few minutes, she remembers thinking, “where’s the challenge in THAT?” Instead, she volunteered to help the couple start a nonprofit that is thriving today. Building on our business turnaround successes, and knowing how much we enjoyed working together as a team, we created Nonprofit Finance Pros, with the intention of strengthening organizations that were in financial transition or crisis. Our first consulting project was to help a nearly insolvent nonprofit close its doors. Once we took a closer look, however, we knew the organization could be turned around, as long as the staff and board were willing to do the hard work it would require. They were, and today, the organization is thriving, providing a much-needed service to the clients in their community. We were hooked! The turnaround and transition business grew from there and our team became known for their professionalism and dedication to the clients we served. The end of each consulting project was always the same – locating and hiring highly qualified, best-fit financial professionals from Directors of Finance to CFOs, honing the search process along the way.
