InitWeather’s real-time objective model analysis products synthesize multiple streams of global, regional, and ensemble weather model forecast data in real-time to provide a suite of statistical products that help in making more accurate weather forecasts. Our products streamline the process of evaluating model output for any given meteorological situation by consolidating vast amounts of data and presenting them into simple-to-use graphics to save you time and money. InitWeather provides graphical forecasts from various global, regional, mesoscale, hurricane, and climate models. Our forecast models page is updated in real-time as soon as numerical weather prediction data becomes available. Our graphics are styled so that important meteorological features are easy to identify, saving meteorologists time in their forecasting process. Our forecast model graphics are available for personal use as well as commercial use. InitWeather has incorporated years of numerical weather prediction knowledge into developing our own proprietary weather model. Our model uses advanced analytics and ensemble modeling to provide more accurate point forecasts throughout the contiguous United States (CONUS). This capability is currently under development. We employ advanced degree meteorologists who are passionate about the weather and who use that passion to create unique weather products and services. We use the latest meteorological models and techniques to solve weather related problems. initWeather’s goal is to provide forecast accuracy for guaranteed success. Dr. Leela Watson, received her Ph.D. in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2006. After receiving her doctorate, she began employment as a member of NASA’s Applied Meteorology Unit (AMU), which is a unit that transitions weather technology from research into operations in support of the United States space program. In the AMU she provided scientific direction for and completed all NWP projects. She developed and implemented a meteorological model and variational data assimilation capability for the AMU’s customers. All of her projects included detailed statistical analysis and validation of model output. Dr. Watson also collaborated with meteorological agencies and universities to research, develop, and implement modeling systems providing technical expertise in NWP and data assimilation as needed. Mr. Michael Watson, received his M.S. in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2005. He began his career as an operational meteorologist with Surfline/Wavetrak, Inc. in 2002 and is currently the Atlantic Operations Manager and Lead Forecaster. Mr. Watson’s operational experience involves issuing highly detailed weather, marine and surf forecasts across the globe using state-of-the-art forecasting tools. He has produced forecasts and provided decision support services for high level marine related events around the world. Mr. Watson has produced many rich editorial weather pieces including climatological related studies and long range forecasts for both commercial entities and consumer consumption.
