Bernie Stiller Sr. (owner) was born in Berlin and raised in Bremen, Germany. His wife, Hilda, was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. They both met in the biggest melting pot of the United States….New York City. Bernie Sr. was a Commercial Refrigeration Foreman for T.G. Lee milk company in St. Thomas Virgin Islands and Hilda was a hematology and oncology laboratory technician. Their son, Bernie Jr. was born in Brooklyn and spent most of his childhood in Long Island until the family moved to Cape Coral in 1986. Bernie Sr. decided to start his own company, Independent Air Conditioning, Inc. in 1991. At the same time, Hilda retired from her profession to help with the air conditioning business. During high school and summer breaks from college Bernie Jr. would help out in the family business. Later, joining the company full time. When Independent Air Conditioning started there was one goal in mind. To provide area families with comfort solutions that fit not only their lifestyle but also their pocket book. We feel the best customer is an informed customer. Our mission is to “provide over the top customer service and quality craftsmanship to everyone while informing, educating, and guiding them to make decisions that best fits their needs thus creating winning outcomes for the customer and company.” Over the years, Independent AC, Inc. has grown slowly and steadily making sure not to sacrifice personal attention and customer service.
