Louise Wallowitz spent the past 22 years at Hyde Park Counseling Center in a residential treatment milieu, has now opened Hyde Park Counseling Center to provide out-patient services to carry forward her expertise in treating individuals with eating disorders and substance abuse. Her skill set and 22 years of experience as Family Director, and Director of Clinical Services have supported many in their journey into recovery. Louise has worked closely with families in educating, communicating and supporting their loved ones suffering from eating disorders and substance abuse. She was responsible for laying the ground work and initiated the family program that once took place at the residetial location. Her unique style, empathy and compassion have helped families establish healthy boundaries and foremost break the cycle of co-dependent behaviors. Louise believes that one can achieve abstinence, insight, and personal growth in different types of treatment settings. She has 30 years of counseling experience working with adolescents and adults, implementing evidenced based practices and supports the use of CBT when treating addiction. She is eclectic in her style with the belief that recovery is obtainable. Louise is a strong supporter of 12 step programs as a viable solution to ongoing recovery. Louise is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is a certified addiction Professional with years of experience working with DUI Counterattack, and is qualified to complete assessments, make recommendations and provide treatment.
