HOPE South Florida, Inc., originally known as The Shepherd's Way (TSW) until an amendment and name change on December 6, 2010, is a Christian-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing crisis relief, rapid rehousing assistance, and support services for homeless families, veterans, and individuals. Founded by Dr. Fred Scarbrough in 1995 after being motivated by his faith-driven mission to serve homeless communities, HOPE South Florida has evolved into a dynamic partnership among over 50 local churches, businesses, and volunteers committed to building hope, housing, and community connections for those in need. Under the executive leadership of Robin Martin since August 2007, who brought in extensive experience from his roles at the Coalition to End Homelessness in Broward County, HOPE South Florida launched innovative programs such as Faith In Action Community Housing and HOPE Central. These initiatives provide temporary shelter solutions for families, food pantry access, shared community meals, childcare options, and financial literacy training. Marking significant progress since its inception, the organization has expanded its impact from supporting 11 families to housing over 100 families and veterans nightly. Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, HOPE South Florida continues to collaborate with prominent regional churches and various entities to respond holistically to homelessness issues within Broward County.
