Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans across the United States. Since its inception in 2004, HFOT has focused on restoring freedom and independence to veterans who have faced life-altering injuries such as multiple limb amputations, paralysis, or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). The organization ensures that nearly 90% of every dollar received directly supports program services for Veterans. The homes are tailored specifically to meet the individual needs of each Veteran and are built in locations chosen by them. HFOT continues its support post-delivery, assisting veterans in rebuilding their lives and becoming productive members of society once again. Many beneficiaries have pursued new careers, completed education, or started families since receiving their adapted homes. Motivated by these newly gained freedoms, many Veterans have become motivational speakers advocating for perseverance through adversity, and raising awareness about critical issues such as veteran suicide, homelessness, and PTSD. HFsO T's effective operations are further underscored by its seventh consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, placing it in the top four percent of rated charities. This recognition reflects the community’s trust in HFOT to effectively utilize contributions for program services.
