It all began in the summer of 1997; a small group of individuals and business leaders who envisioned what a bank should be, and who believed that Plant City could really benefit from a community bank, got together and started dreaming. They wanted a bank where customers would feel known, understood, and supported. They believed that developing a solid banking relationship was the key for individuals and businesses in our community to thrive, prosper and grow. The group came together with their vision of a relationship bank and together founded Hillsboro Bank. In July 1998, their vision was realized when Hillsboro Bank opened its doors for the first time. Initially the Bank operated in a small trailer out in front of where our permanent location was being built. The Bank moved into its headquarters on Alexander Street in November of 1998 and has been overwhelmed ever since by the support of our community. It is because of this support, and the values instilled by the bank's founding leaders, that Hillsboro Bank was able to open a branch office in Valrico in 2007 and today continues to grow and change to meet the needs of our community. Today, many of our founding leaders remain involved in growing and shaping our Bank. We are passionate about what we do and love being a part of the communities we serve.
