I feel like I’ve rediscovered how exciting it is to be a software engineer since joining Heptio. I wake up eager to see what happened in Kubernetes-land while I was sleeping, and I anticipate solving whatever challenges each new day brings. I get to help an amazing group of incredibly smart people bring awesome technology to even larger groups of really smart people. Heptio is an outstanding group of people who are deeply involved in the open source community. It’s exciting to be here shaping the future of Kubernetes. I evaluate any new opportunity based on four criteria: market potential, leadership team, grown opportunity, and culture. Heptio hits a home run on all four. I get to help shape best practices for technologies that are still relatively new; all while working with a fantastic group of folks. Working at Heptio is equal parts gratifying and challenging. I’m contributing to something exciting without having to leave my kids or the comfort of home. Dare I say ‘dream job’?
