Sherri spent four years as a supervisor at the Lubbock State School caring for individuals with severe physical and mental disabilities. Afterwards she worked as a house manager for a six bed group home in Texas. She helped develop and implement programs designed to promote independent living skills. For the last several years she has concentrated on raising her children. For the first few years in Florida, she concentrated on raising her three children before co-founding Henderson Haven. Henderson Haven is proud to be partners with other local organizations that share in our beliefs and philosophies. By working together, we are able to provide the people of North Florida a clear path to independent living, choice and inclusion. multi-disciplinary team provides excellence in educational, psychological and related therapeutic services for children, families and young adults with special needs. The mission of this association is to provide individuals with Down Syndrome opportunities to develop their potential in a supportive family, professional and community environment. Henderson Haven In the News.. Bridget is a single mother with a special needs child. She is very active in Danny's day to day activities and has experienced first hand the difference Henderson Haven can make. Bridget is currently completing her degree in accounting and over the years has built strong relationships within the school and medical communities. She is a tireless advocate for special needs children and can be counted on to lend an active hand where needed. Fran Watkins recently retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. where she held the position of Director of Provider Relations. Having worked in the medical community throughout her career, Fran has maintained fellowship status with the Academy of Health Care Management and is a certified medical practice executive (CMPE) with the American College of Medical Practice Executives. She has conducted more than 300 seminars on such topics as medical billing, collections, continuous improvement and Medicare. Fran has supported Henderson Haven for four years and has a grandson with special needs. Though Danny, Fran has seen the special results of Henderson Haven involvement. Sophia Dare Dentiste is an inspirational speaker, artist, wellness coach, wife and mom. After being special needs parents for eight years, she and her husband, Robert lost their oldest son to heart disease and a rare genetic disorder. Since 2004, she has spoken at numerous women's events, from Mother-Daughter banquets, week-end conferences, break-out lectures, and seminars, and a keynote speaker for Women's Connection Luncheons across Florida. Her articles have been featured in online writing and nutrition magazines. She is passionate about encouraging others to understand their true inherent value and purpose, while enjoying the present along the way! She has a heart for the mission and accomplishments of Henderson Haven and is excited about being part of their support network! Henderson Haven, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides training and personal care to individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide these services at all times of the day, and most of the time, in the individual's home. We are always looking for people that enjoy working with, and helping others. All you need is a dependable source of transportation and we'll provide whatever else you need.
