Dr. Lorenz is Professor of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Stanford University Medical Center; Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Stanford Medical Center; Director of NIH-funded Hagey Laboratory for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine; author of numerous research publications. Dr. Lorenz was a founder of Stem Source, Inc., which is now part of the public company, Cytori Therapeutics. He is a nationally recognized authority on wound care and is a member of Bio-X, Stanford’s pioneering interdisciplinary biosciences institute While many wound care products (from advanced dressings to NPWT devices) exist on the market, none is able to sufficiently overcome the impoverished blood flow and tissue oxygenation—the two biggest challenges facing chronic wounds—to enable healing faster than the current average time of nearly 6 months.
