While we are a local Florida company, our CEO started his lifelong career in the building supplies industry in the Caribbean. Vernon Hassell was born on the Caribbean island of Saba. As the years went by, he worked in Curacao and St. Maarten’s government departments. During the construction of Queens Gardens Resort, Vernon supervised the project. This project helped drive Vernon to start his own hardware and construction company in Saba. After years of success, Vernon built the company into one of the largest privately own companies in the region. Following his success, Vernon moved to South Florida in 1999 to continue his career in the building supplies industry. In the same year, Vernon started Hassell Free, and the company has been successfully helping those with building supply needs ever since.
