We are a group of recovering addicts committed to ending the damaging and sometimes fatal use of substances. We help those afflicted by this disease while crushing the stigma simultaneously. As a team we strive to heal the wounds in those that suffer- that includes not only the individual using but the entire family dynamic. Each member of our team has dealt with substance abuse in one form or another. This experience, good and bad, has lit a fire which provokes us to help those to see the gifts that recovery has shown us. Whether at home, in your child's school or huddled inside an abandoned building, we will enter your situation with confidence. We are the people behind Hashtag Recovery. We each have a story that helps us help others. I was the golden child growing up. I was a good student-athlete in school all the way up to university. During my freshman year of high school I was on two varsity sports teams. That means that a large portion of my time was spent with upperclassmen. Eventually the peer-pressure got to me and I started drinking and smoking weed in the 10th grade. By my senior year I had tried everything else. During my sophomore campaign of college I was introduced to heroin and that's where life became really miserable. For 5 long years I allowed myself to succumb to a level of existence that was far below my standards. I wasn't Logan anymore. Thankfully, I have a close friend that dealt with the same issue of substance abuse and he got clean. He reached out to me and I accepted his help. Since then I've realized that sometimes people need just that- the idea of hope, a way out. Drugs and alcohol have become all too common amongst the millennial population. Hashtag Recovery wants to educate, prevent and help those that suffered from this epidemic. Hashtag is a team of 4 individuals, all under the age of 30 (for now) that have experienced and overcame addiction in one form or another.
