Who is Harold Leighton? Harold’s first major invention was the world’s 1st radial blow-drying brush in 1970, The Leighton Stylar, followed by the Curvar and Brushar, that started a revolution in hairbrush innovation. These products were designed and produced in a British factory in the UK and were distributed worldwide. Harold has worked for and on behalf of companies such as Seligman & Latz, Harrods, Glemby, Paul Mitchell, Wella, Schwarzkopf, Vidal Sassoon, Keratin Complex, Redken and Clairol. Aside from these companies Harold has worked side-by-side with hairdressing giants such as: Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie, John Frieda, Michael Rasser, Anthony Mascolo, Roger Thompson, The Carita Sisters, Alexandra, Jacques Desange, Jean Louis David, Sam McKnight and more. Harold has written three books “Haircutting for Everyone”, “The Complete Book of Hair Care” and his acclaimed anthology of the British hairdressing scene “From Salon to Celebrity”, which charted the rise of the British hairdresser in UK society. Building on what Harold has done in the past, Harold continues to be a leader and innovator of ideas as well as products for the benefit of the industry to both consumers and professionals. Harold continues to read all of the trade rags and follows all of the new products and services to both consumers and professionals. He is sought after by many companies as a consultant for both product development and marketing to the industry. Harold continues to write and blog in multiple medias on the industry regarding its past, present and future, however, nothing is more important and satisfying to Harold than his continuous tinkering of his personal portfolio of products to improve upon haircare products and services around the world.
