Tom Harden, Founder of the Harden Legacy of builders, started the business over 40 years ago. Tom spent many hours as an apprentice learning the masonry and carpentry trades. Later in life, he would use these skills to start his home building business which is known as Harden Homes. Tom used his skills as a mason and his unbridled determination gleaned from his days as a Marine to set the standard for building homes which applied to anyone that worked for him. He demanded the absolute best for his customers! That legacy of un-compromised quality has been passed down throughout the years and is what separates Harden Homes from any other builder. Mark Harden, successor to his father, is the Owner and Qualifier of Harden Custom Homes. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Florida International University. He has held a Class “A” Certified General Contractor’s License in the State of Florida for over 20 years and has constructed over 1,000 single family homes and counting. Mark started working for his father at the age of 10 learning the finer skills of digging ditches and pouring concrete. Mark apprenticed under his father and select employees over the years to master the skills of carpentry, masonry, fine trim work, cabinetry, tiling, painting, roofing and many more. Mark truly is an expert in the home building business from the ground up. I've learned from experience that it's the Harden way or the wrong way. Harden Custom Homes does an amazing job. They waterproof all the areas where running water is located or can touch. They use a fiberglass board that will never mold or mildew if water were to touch it. AND THEN they even paint over that with a waterproofing sealant. Everything Mark Harden does for his homes is really the tried and true best way to do it.
