Happy Acres Ranch, Inc., known for its exceptional childcare programs, was founded in 1953 by Marion Scarborough. Initially launched on a picturesque 10-acre parcel between Crane Avenue and Silversmith Creek in Jacksonville, Florida, the center started as a children's camp. Over time, Happy Acres has grown into one of Jacksonville's leading child care facilities. Its commitment to excellence is reflected in its accreditation by the American Camp Association since 1966, highlighting quality development for children in a serene environment. The property has historical significance, being part of an extensive land grant to early settlers. Today, you can still find traces of its rich history through items like old railroad spikes and bricks from a brick factory active around the early 1900s.
