Our Mission: Hands On Tzedakah collaborates with people who dedicate themselves to helping others. We are partners (1) in programs where our funding serves to make a profound difference in people’s lives; and (2) with our donors by enabling them to see, touch, and feel the effect of their dollars at work. Hands On Tzedakah Hands On Tzedakah The initial criteria for funding requires that the project or need meet the parameters of our mission statement. If a program meets these parameters then prior to any substantial program funding, we will engage in a “Hands On” process by visiting the program, getting to know the program and obtaining and reviewing information on budgets and other financial information, including tax returns and accounting reports. Hands On Tzedakah so that we are satisfied that the funds allocated to them are used as intended. Will you provide any direct relief to individuals and if you do so, how can your donors be sure that the monies distributed to these individuals are used as intended? Hands On Tzedakah gives direct aid for the relief of the poor, distressed and underprivileged where specific cases of extreme need are referred to us. These cases are subject to especially stringent investigation and accountability. The relationship with and credentials of the charitable organization or individual making the referral is vital. Hands on Tzedakah ) is a Certified Public Accountant who has his own accounting and tax practice, and is the Chief Financial Officer of Random Source, Inc. an office supply company which he is a part owner. He is also an adjunct Professor of Accounting at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Merrick served as the Treasurer of Parkland Isles Homeowners Association for over 13 years and has been involved in the non-profit arena for over 14 years serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services. is a Partner of Grant Thornton LLP where he leads the firm’s Detroit tax practice. He serves a wide range of clients across multiple industries, providing year-round compliance and planning, as well as transactional support. Within the community, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Fresh Air Society/Tamarack Camps and as a Trustee of Adat Shalom Synagogue. He has previously served as a Trustee and Executive Committee Member of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. He is a former Vice-Chair of the Jewish Federations’ National Young Leadership Cabinet, and a graduate of the Berrie Fellows Leadership Program. is involved in the community and serves on the governing boards for a variety of local organizations. He helps structure gifts to charities that provide benefits to both donors and the organizations. is a co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn, LLC, an investment advisory firm. Mr. Cramer’s civic and professional commitments include membership on the boards of the National Road Safety Foundation and Ripplewood Corporation, a major private equity firm. He served as a lieutenant in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Cramer graduated from Syracuse University where he now serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Cramer has also sponsored and funded a joint venture between Maxwell School of Syracuse University and the Counter Terrorism Committee of The Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya Israel as well as funding academic leadership scholarships for the past seven years for IDC students.  is about helping .
