Hello! My name is Troy Nelson, grill master for Hands of a Craftsman BBQ. It brings me great joy to bring my craft to life and have others enjoy the art of great Bar-B-Que. I hope you have a chance to stop by and try some food as we move on this exciting journey, sharing with those in Central Florida and beyond! I was born and raised in a small town outside Tallahassee Florida called Crawfordville. My family loved to cook, and as I got older I began to really enjoy it myself. I wanted to do something positive in my life to earn a living and provide for my family. I began selling out of a camping trailer in the local town park every weekend. As business started to pick up I ventured into Tallahassee during the FSU and FAMU games and homecomings and quickly began selling BBQ every day to keep up with the demand. My brother joined me in the BBQ business and we quickly joined the FL & GA BBQ associations. We participated in competitions in Florida, Georgia & Alabama winning many awards for ribs, chicken, pulled pork and even dessert! Living so close to Tallahassee also provided the opportunity to cater many events for state legislation sessions, continuing to increase my passion and ability to serve many people. As I continue to grow our business, you can find me on the corner of Bumby and Jefferson every Saturday & Sunday afternoon. Hands of a Craftsman
