The Commune of Saint-Marc was identified and confirmed to become the beneficiary of the project To promote tourism in Haiti, officials from Haiti and Montreal signed an agreement in March 2014 at the Ministry of Tourism in Haiti. Participants included Haiti Minister of Tourism Stephanie Balmir-Villedrouin, Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre and General Director of Montreal Tourism Yves Lalumière. Following the meeting, Balmir-Villedrouin said that the agreement would allow Canada to provide its expertise in helping Haiti promote tourism. This guidance on tourism development will create a bridge between the cities of Montreal and Port-au-Prince, encouraging Canadian tourists to visit Haiti. Balmir-Villedrouin says, "Our greatest need is to improve Haiti's image." Hand in Hand for Haiti is a 501(c)(3) Hand in Hand for Haiti (HiHH) was incorporated in the United States on January 29, 2010 as a 501(c)(3) corporation and was founded by: Hand in Hand for Haiti Foundation (HiHHF) is the Haitian representative of HiHH in Haiti and was founded on May 7, 2010 (Le Moniteur dated July 14, 2010) Hand in Hand for Haiti France is an Endowment Fund based in Paris (Journal Officiel dated May 21, 2011, number 01475) Hand in Hand for Haiti is a 501(c)(3) Erin joined Hand in Hand for Haiti as Executive Director in November 2015. In this role, she is responsible for U.S. operations and global resource development. Erin has more than 15 years of non-profit management experience with a special focus on children’s issues and education. She has held senior management positions with the American Cancer Society, Smithsonian Institution, Trinity School, Liberty Science Center and Advocates for Children of NJ. When she’s not traveling the world for work (or fun), you’ll find her in New Jersey, where she lives with her husband and two children. Team Miami has committed to help the foundation raise $550,000 in 2014 to continue to help build and operate the Lycée Jean-Baptiste Pointe du Sable in Saint-Marc.
