WHO WE ARE In business for over 40 years, Hammond Construction is a construction management and general contracting company serving health care, commercial and educational markets. We are one of the largest professional management and contracting companies in Northeast Ohio, providing experienced managers and quality construction services. Corporate and financial management, project planning and pre-construction services originate from our business offices in Canton, Ohio. Field offices established at the job site provide our on-site presence, and serve as the control center for day-to-day activities during construction and post-construction. John Kirkpatrick is the second generation in his family to provide leadership for the Company. In his 18 years of experience, John has been heavily involved in Hammond’s management of multi-million dollar education and healthcare facility construction projects. He currently focuses on general project management oversight and business development. From our beginning as an interior contractor (Hammond Interior Systems) in 1973, we excelled in the installation of plaster systems, drywall and detailed carpentry work. In 1981, Hammond Interior Systems transformed into Hammond Construction, Inc. due to the needs of a national customer who was looking for full-phase general contractor. During this time, Hammond began expanding our market area as well as types of clientele we could serve. Continued growth and opportunity lead to the company branching into two separate entities in 1986.Those entities included Hammond Construction, Inc., which performed general contracting, and construction management work and Hammond Industrial, Inc. which was an industrial contractor. Hammond Industrial served several large scale steel and manufacturing clients in Ohio for over 20 years. Ultimately, Hammond Industrial was sold in 2006 and we became a stand-alone company, Hammond Construction, Inc. Today, Hammond is one of the largest professional management and contracting companies in Northeast Ohio. A driving factor in the success of Hammond has been our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and our ability to adapt to the needs of the market.
