Who We Are
Haiti International Alliance, Inc. (HIA) is a humanitarian-based organization that is working to improve the lives of the people of Haiti. HIA was formed in
which means “God the Healer”, was opened on April 19, 2010 - just a little over 3 months after the 7.0 earthquake on January 12. Two Haitian doctors and three nurses (whose hospital was destroyed by the earthquake) were hired to run the three-room clinic which serves the people living in Village Solidarite, Port-au-Prince. Rapha Clinic is designed to provide primary medical care for routine complaints such as back pain, headaches, and other less serious issues. Although the clinic does charge a fee for services (about 60 to 80 cents) no one is turned away or denied care if they cannot pay.
You will receive updates about how all the children are doing by subscribing to our newsletter. You can also request to receive periodic updates about a specific child.
Located in the northern section of Port-au-Prince and in a swampy area along the Gulf of Gonave, La Saline is considered to be the poorest part of Port-au-Prince. Unable to afford proper food, many families here feed their children mud pies (salt, oil, and dirt) so that they will have something in their stomachs to help fight off the pangs of hunger.
La Saline is also the location of Fort Dimanche (often referred to as Fort Death), the prison once used under the regime of former Haitian dictator Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier. Decommissioned in 1991, this former prison is now home to the community called “Democracy Village”.
The Haitian community of Village Solidarite is located in Haiti’s capital city, Port-au-Prince. In this community, Haiti International Alliance has two ongoing building projects:
At CJRA, one of the recent work projects was the installation a new septic system and new bathrooms. Additional projects for the school include completing the class rooms by finishing the block walls, doing the finish cement work, and then installing windows and doors. HIA would then need to furnish these rooms with benches and desks and be able to support a school of 2,500 students.

The purchase of this water truck has resulted in a self-sustaining business project which:
Provides a business opportunity for 2 large families and their extended families
We are happy to announce that our chicken farm is growing and producing eggs. It is nice to report that our children are receiving one egg a day. This is a great source of protein and we are starting to see the benefits of the children having these eggs in their diet. To date, we have had enough donations to purchase 426 chicken of the maximum 3,500 chickens we can accommodate. We will gradually add more chickens so we can balance caring for them while getting used to the increased numbers without overwhelming the Haitian workers or putting stress on the existing chickens. We will add 72 chickens at a time until we get to 426 chickens.
Water in Haiti is very expensive and full of diseases. Having clean water that does not have to be purchased is crucial in helping reduce monthly expenses for Wayom Timoun/ Kingdom of Kids. The Water Filtration System Project was started by a team from Boston and was installed in May of 2015.
This project came from one of the team members as a complete gift from God! She was at work talking about her missions trip to a customer, who informed her that his father-in-law had created and installed water filtration systems in Haiti and Africa. They got in contact and started the process. From there they collected water samples, researched the plumbing, started fundraising efforts and much more. Once they had all the data, it was on to the design and layout phase of the water filtration system which then led to the installation!
As the project continues to grow, the goal is to eventually have enough water coming through the water system to sell as a source of income for the orphanage. We also plan to have clean water for the community in Jerusalem and hope to be able to provide jobs to local families.

Haiti International Alliance has several short-term missions team opportunities throughout each year. These trips range from medical clinics to humanitarian-focused teams to construction-focused teams. Trips can be any combination (in varying degrees) of these three areas of service, depending on the team dynamics and skills.
We hope that you will consider joining one of our upcoming teams or tell your friends about us. We believe that everyone can make a difference. It is through teams such as these that we have been able to build the school and church that we now have. Volunteer missionary teams are vital to our ministry.
