About Gun Stock and Barrel Gun Stock and Barrel has an onsite gunsmith and usually one apprentice. Owner and master gunsmith Mark Smith attended Lassen College in CA, an NRA gunsmithing facility, in the early 2000’s, previously worked at a large retail firearms store and also taught at a range in South Florida. Recently he’s worked for one of the more famous plating and refinishing companies servicing 2 major firearm manufacturers. We area small custom shop and its sometimes hard to get to the phone if we are on a machine, polishing wheel, or out back working the blue tanks, but rest assured even if its later at night we will return your call as customer service is very important to us.
