The Gulfport Grand Prix, LLC. is producing the second annual Gulfport Grand Prix featuring the NGK Spark Plugs Formula One Powerboat Championship and a Boat Show. In cooperation with the City of Gulfport, the downtown area is transformed into a mecca of activity along Shore Boulevard between 58th Street South and 54th Street South. Formula One Boats with their open to the public pit area makes the Gulfport Recreation Center home for the weekend, along with the Antique boat show as well as the Pleasure Boat Display and Vendor booths lining Shore Blvd. South. Beach Blvd. South will serve as the main entrance and parking shuttle drop off area for the free to the public event. ) a local non-profit organization whose mission is to help underprivileged children and seniors in the Gulfport, Florida area. In cooperation with the City of Gulfport, the downtown area will be transformed into a mecca of activity along Shore Boulevard between 58th Street South and 54th Street South. Vendor booths lining Beach Blvd. S. will serve as the main entrance and parking shuttle drop off area for the free to the public event. Sanctioned by the NASF (North American Speedboat Federation) and conducted by S,P.O.R.T. (Southern Professional Outboard Racing Tour) the heated up close and personal racing action will commence on the Boca Ciego Bay area of the intercostal just off the beach viewing areas will be located in the center of the entire event. We will be kicking off the weekend’s events starting early Friday morning on April 28th by setting up of displays and pit areas. The event will conclude on Sunday evening after two full days of racing action the 30th at the conclusion of the racing award presentations. Proceeds to benefit PARC (Providing Advocacy & Recognizing Capabilities) a local non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities to exercise their independence and experience life to the fullest.
