Previously, only automobile dealers were allowed to sell the GEM line. GEM is short for Global Electric Motorcars, owned by Polaris. A GEM car is a street legal electric car allowed on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 MPH or less. As a licensed car dealer, Gulf Atlantic Vehicles has the capability of converting new and reconditioned electric golf cars into Street Legal Low Speed Vehicles (LSV). LSV cars are street legal on streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less. These LSV conversion models have been approved by The Department of Motor Vehicles, issuing a new vehicle identification number for tag and title purposes. Gulf Atlantic Vehicles has the necessary FL car dealer license to apply for the LSV tag and title needed to legally drive a LSV on public streets.
