Guadalupe Gardens is a missionary formation center of the New Evangelization located on the outskirts of San Marcos, Nicaragua. Paul Rush, the founder and an Ave Maria College graduate (Ann Arbor, MI), has dedicated more than a decade of his life to this place. The greater goal for all those who come or participate in the mission is to have an encounter with the living God, Jesus Christ, and to promote the True, Good, and Beautiful. Together we will promote these seven areas of society and culture: 4) Promotion of charitable giving to help the poor and vulnerable As many of you know, Hurricane Irma devastated Southwest Florida. Many of our neighbors in the farming community of Immokalee, Florida became homeless overnight. We appreciate your prayers as our communities work together to support those in need. Guadalupe Gardens and the Ave Maria Family Service Outreach are partnering to help meet the needs of the those displaced from their homes. All funds will be used to provide for families and individuals affected by the storm. There is a well on site, but unfortunately, it was clogged during the war and needs to be reopened with a well drilling rig. We will also have to install a new solar powered pump. This well will significantly help the local families and also help our local non-profit partner (Fundenatura). Please contribute if you are able to do so. We also plan to keep bees on site and sell their honey in local markets as a way of sustainability. In February 2016, Paul met with a mission group from the University of Wisconsin to begin the process of establishing the colonies, the students returned in July 2016 to conduct a local seminar to teach a local family how to bee keep.
