Here at Grow With Us Academy, we strive to provide the best school environment for children so they can learn at their highest potential. The preschool founder, Mindy Becker, is a Loving Guidance Associate and National Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor who has presented both in the United States and Internationally, including at conferences such as NAEYC. We are the only preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten in South Florida endorsed by Loving Guidance and Dr. Becky Bailey that utilizes Conscious Discipline® as our primary approach. All teachers and administrators are trained in Conscious Discipline®, developed by Dr. Bailey, which is a research based comprehensive self-regulation program that combines social and emotional learning with discipline and guidance. Built on a foundation of current brain research, the School Family™ is constructed from safety, connection and problem-solving. It’s the best I have ever seen!” Mindy, founder of Grow With Us Academy LLC, has been working with children and families since 1990. As a Barry University Summa Cum Laude graduate, she majored in Exceptional Student Education (ESE). She was first introduced to Conscious Discipline® in 2001 where she used some of the strategies with medically fragile children while working at Children’s Rehab Network. After receiving her teaching degree Mindy started working at the Pre-Kindergarten ESE District Office in Miami-Dade County substituting in the demonstration classrooms, helping with the assistive technology team, and teaching at various PPEC’s (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care). She went on to teach for MDCPS Pre-K ESE Program after many years working at private schools with all ages and developmental stages. Mindy received certification as a Conscious Discipline® Instructor in 2007, and was named a Loving GUidance Associate by Dr. Becky Bailey in 2016. Mindy started her own business as a parent and professional coach guiding families with knowledge and love. She educates parents on how to use Conscious Discipline® skills in their home and encourages professionals to incorporate and implement the philosophy into their profession or classroom. In addition, she has presented parent and professional workshops with a focus on Conscious Discipline® in Dade, Broward, and Monroe County, Atlanta Georgia, Asheville North Carolina, New York, Denmark, Grenada, and Puerto Rico. Mindy’s passion and dedication shows through with all that she does and she feels grateful for every opportunity to Teach, Learn, and Live. Gigi has her B.A. in Elementary Education and Sociology from the University of Miami and her Masters Degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from Fordham University. After graduation, she went to work for the family business in real estate management. After 6 years, she decided to stay at home with her two children. She has now rejoined the workforce and is administering the day-to-day responsibilities of the Grow With Us Academy as well as leading the Parent Meetings and co-presenting with Mindy in the Parent Workshops. She first began her journey with Conscious Discipline® in 2011 by attending Mindy’s Level 1 and Level 2 series followed by numerous Study Clubs and Q&As along with Parent Child Classes. She has since then completed Dr. Becky Bailey Summer Institute Workshop (CD1) and the Advanced Institute Workshop (CD2) and is in the process of working towards her Instructor Certification in Conscious Discipline®. Together with Mindy, they feel they can make a huge difference in the lives of many and truly impact the way people discipline themselves and others and how children are educated. Gigi is also a parent at Grow With Us Academy and is thrilled to be a part of something very special and unique with growth, knowledge, and love at its fundamental core. Gina Jeffries graduated from Design and Architecture Senior High and has a B.A. from Utah Valley University, and her creativity and effective implementations have immeasurably helped in managing the Grow With Us team. After teaching High School English for 2 years, she began private tutoring and a career in Educational Management. She brings with her years of experience managing a well known for profit educational center and has found Conscious Discipline to be immeasurably helpful in her relationships, especially with her daughter who is a Grow With Us student.
