GRL Engineers, Inc. has been at the forefront of deep foundation testing since its beginnings in dynamic pile testing research at Case Western Reserve University back in 1964. Founded as a company in 1976, they've grown to be experts in deep foundation quality control with their Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA) system and a range of other pioneering techniques like wave equation analysis, hammer performance evaluation, and non-destructive testing methods. Today, GRL Engineers offers a wide array of services: from drilled shafts and driven piles to ACIP/CFA foundations, Micro and Helical Piles, Slurry Walls, Barrettes, among other specialized solutions. Hannigan, P.E., who took over as President in 2011 following Frank Rausche, GRL has built a formidable team exceeding 30 engineers, many equipped with advanced degrees and significant professional experience. These experts keep their skills sharp by achieving Advanced Level or higher on the prestigious PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test. GRL has contributed to notable consulting projects like aiding Complete General Construction Company in designing pile wall thickness and conducting static load tests for a bridge over Ohio's Tuscarawas River. They continue to provide valuable educational resources, including contributions like Geotechnical Circular No.12, which delves into best practices for deep foundation engineering.
