About Griffin Industries Founded in 1983 by Thomas Krouth, Griffin Industries was among the first pattern shops in the United States to use emerging CNC technology to manufacture foundry tooling. In its early days, Griffin Industries specialized in making plastic prototype tooling for plaster foundries, as well as green sand and shell tooling for hydraulic valve body castings. Over the years, in response to our customers’ needs for machining of the parts we tooled, we added more vertical, as well as horizontal, and CNC lathe capabilities. In 2004, a second generation assumed the management of Griffin Industries. Thanks to the previous years of very careful, deliberate planning, this transition has been very successful. Since 2004, Griffin Industries has enjoyed two separate building expansions which quadrupled the size of our original building. We have continued to be very progressive in adding to our CNC, CMM, and RP capabilities. In 2009, we expanded and renovated our front office area to include much needed offices and conference rooms for our growing engineering staff. We now have the facilities, equipment, staff, and systems in place to continue the growth that has blessed us through the years. We are very grateful to our team members and to our customers, without whom we could not do what we so enjoy doing.
