Nearly two decades ago, our founder and CEO, Ken Meares, recognized that an aging population and a changing healthcare system meant that people would need to take a more active role in maintaining their own health—a concept he termed ‘self-care.” He was determined to provide quality health information and supplements directly to consumers to make this possible. Great HealthWorks started in a one room office in 2003 with the simple goal to create a natural, effective supplement that could help reduce inflammation. Our Founder, Ken Meares and Co-Founder Miles Dupreé, started with this one idea and one product and OmegaXL was born. Inspired by their mutual belief in this product, they made OmegaXL a household name, improving the lives of many loyal customers. Prior to Great HealthWorks, Mr. DuPreé spent over a decade directing the technology initiatives for System One, a wholly owned subsidiary of Continental Airlines. Mr. DuPreé left Continental Airlines (System One) and formed Pro Logic Computer systems— where his company developed some of the very first travel internet booking engines. Pro Logic provided software solutions for the who’s who in the travel industry. Miles also created on of the first successful travel network marketing companies called DoitallTravel. Doitalltravel experienced tremendous challenges as a result of 9/11, after which Miles decided to close DoitallTravel and sell Pro Logic computer System. Intrigued with what Ken Meares had discovered, Mr. DuPreé turned his attention to the health and beauty industries, and in 2003, along with Great HealthWorks CEO Ken Meares, launched Great HealthWorks, Inc. Early on, she realized the value of proactive rather than reactive care strategies, providing groundbreaking products and innovative rejuvenation therapies to her patients long before they were considered mainstream. Her passion to broaden the reach of preventive care is amplified in her position at Great HealthWorks, spearheading product development and consumer messaging...
