Grassie Law, LLC Welcome to Grassie Law, LLC.  I have been practicing law in Florida since 1987 and am certified by the Florida Bar as a legal specialist in Health Law (commonly referred to as "Board Certified").  I represent clients in the health care industry for whom I provide regulatory, transactional and compliance counsel.  My health care clients include physician groups, home health agencies, independent diagnostic testing facilities, pharmacies, medical billing companies, staffing companies, individual health care providers, medical franchisors and alternative care providers, among others. In representing my clients, I consider both the client's obligation to comply with applicable rules and regulations and the client's business needs. I engage in short- and long-term business and structural planning with my clients, and functions as part of the client's outside workforce. I am versed in HIPAA, federal and state physician self-referral prohibitions, including Stark, federal and state anti-kickback legislation, provider conditions of participation, state licensure requirements, BHRT, telehealth and regulations pertaining to alternative care delivery methods and models. I believe that it is important to give back to our community and help others, both human and animal, whenever possible.  Below is the list of community service activities I've had the privilege of participating in. Appointed to the Miami-Dade County Efficiency and Competition Commission, 2002-2004  Appointed to the Miami-Dade County Performance Commission, 1995-2001  Provided free legal services at homeless shelters and accepted pro bono cases as part of the Homeless Pro Bono Project of the Dade county Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers and Legal Services of Greater Miami, December 1990-1997
