Please take your Confirmation of Protection coverage with you on your Covered Trip. Refer to your Confirmation of Grand Assurance Protection Coverage page for your specific protection plan benefits and limits chosen. Pre-Departure Protection Benefits include reimbursement for forfeited, prepaid, non-refundable, and unused payments or deposits, and/or guest fees if you are prevented from taking your Covered Trip due to one of the covered reasons. Upon verification of the covered reason on a submitted claim Grand Assurance will reimburse up to the limits listed on the Confirmation of Protection Coverage page. Post-Departure Trip Protection Benefits include reimbursement if 1) arrival on your covered vacation accommodation is delayed or 2) unable to continue on your covered vacation accommodation due to one of the covered reasons. Upon verification of the covered reason on a submitted claim Grand Assurance will reimburse up to the limits listed on the Confirmation of Protection Coverage page, less any refund paid or payable, for unused resort or condominium arrangements and reservation in conjunction with this Covered Trip. Protection coverage takes effect on the date the Plan payment has been received by the travel provider and a confirmation page has been issued. Protection coverage automatically ends on the earlier of 1) the date the Covered Trip is completed; or 2) cancellation of the Covered Trip covered by the Plan. In this description of protection coverage, "you", "your'' and "yours" refer to the Plan participant. ”We", "us" and "our" refer to Grand Assurance. Coverage means the contract issued by Grand Assurance Protection providing the benefits specified herein. Covered Traveler refers to the individual who has arranged to take the Covered Trip, paid the required Plan payment, and in whose name this coverage is issued, as shown on the Confirmation Page. Confirmation of Protection Coverage page refers to the documentation provided following receipt of required payment plan. Payments or Deposits are the amount actually paid for your Covered Trip, provided the appropriate Plan cost has been paid. Pre-Existing Condition means an illness, disease, or other condition greater than 30 days prior to the date the Plan payment has been received by Grand Assurance. Beneficiary means your estate, unless written notice of a designated beneficiary is provided to Grand Assurance. Grand Assurance Protection Coverage is provided for the following unforeseeable events or their consequences which occur while Protection Coverage is in effect under this Plan: Common carrier delays resulting from inclement weather, or mechanical breakdown or organized labor strikes that affect public transportation; arrangements canceled by an airline, cruise line, motor coach company, or tour operator, resulting from inclement weather, mechanical breakdown or organized labor strikes that affect public transportation; arrangements canceled by hotel, condominium or other supplier of travel services, resulting from financial insolvency; being directly involved in a documented traffic accident while en route to departure; Required to serve on a jury, or required by a court order to appear as a witness in a legal action, provided you, are not 1) a party to the legal action, or 2) appearing as a law enforcement officer. Being called into active military service to provide aid or relief in the event of a natural disaster; A Terrorist Act which occurs in your departure city or in a city which is a scheduled destination for your Covered Trip provided the Terrorist Act occurs within 30 days of the Scheduled Departure Date for your Covered Trip or during your Covered Trip; Only one Protection Plan may be purchased from Grand Assurance for each covered traveler. The Plan and any other attachments is the entire contract between the Covered Traveler and Grand Assurance. Protection coverage is not provided if you have intentionally concealed or misrepresented any material fact or circumstance relating to the Plan. Grand Assurance must be given written notice of claim within 30 days of the completion of the covered trip. Approved claims for benefits provided by the plan will be paid within 4-6 weeks after all documentation regarding the claim has been processed and approved. All benefits are paid directly to you, unless otherwise directed. Any accrued benefits unpaid at your death will be paid to your estate, or if no estate, to your beneficiary.
