Wendy Gorman is President of Gorman Convention Group, Inc.  With more than 30 years of experience managing meetings, tradeshows and special events, Wendy is a recognized expert in the industry. Prior to forming Gorman Convention Group, Inc., Wendy was Vice President of Nationwide Convention Systems, Inc.  While in this capacity, she managed the overall production of various tradeshows and meetings, including the coordination of sleeping rooms, travel logistics, food and beverage coordination, security and registration. In 1992, Wendy founded Gorman Convention Group, Inc. a nationwide tradeshow, meetings and convention management and consulting firm that specializes in on-site event management.  She has provided Show Management services for the National Head Start Association and the Professional Jewelers Show.  She served as the Director of Broadcast Media Operations for the International Consumer Electronics Show and has served as meetings consultant to the Athletic Business Winter Convention.  In addition, Wendy has provided management services to many of the nation’s largest tradeshows and events, including the American College of Cardiology, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, the American Heart Association, MACWORLD, the National Association of Convenience Stores and numerous others. Thomas is the Director of Operations at Gorman Convention Group, Inc.  With more than 15 years of experience managing meetings, tradeshows and special events, just about everyone in the Orlando tradeshow and convention business has had the joy of working with Tom.  Bringing an amazing work ethic with him from New York, where he held numerous positions with the Carpenters’ Union, Tom has worked with GES, Freeman, Shepherd, and United Expositions, on the majority of business that has flowed through the Orange County Convention Center. Prior to joining Gorman Convention Group, Inc., Thomas was Senior Account Manager for Global Exposition Services. Robin Wagner has been involved in event planning for over 30 years. She started out in the non-profit world as a volunteer and volunteer coordinator. She participated in over 500 city-wide, state, national and international events. Managing and coordinating volunteers got her noticed by the organizations she worked with, resulting in her addition to various planning committees for upcoming events. For example, she managed the business office and assisted logistics for the Houston Her love for events landed her in the Exhibitor Services department for United Expositions where she increased scheduling and order process efficiencies for the department by 200%. While working in exhibitor services as the expert to the exhibitors, she managed many of UX’s smaller conventions and trade shows, working with labor unions, transportation companies, and the many personalities of the planners and booth workers for all of the organizations exhibiting at the shows. This position also afforded her the opportunity to lead a strategic initiative to inform international media gathered at the Economic Summit of Industrialized Nations by planning, developing, and creating a 60-piece pictorial exhibit showcasing businesses, educational institutions, and lifestyles of the Houston area that she installed and displayed in the convention center that served as the Media Center for the Summit. approval for a new version of training equipment and negotiating cost-effective pricing with vendors. The feedback received from those instructors of assigned courses was 100% positive when asked for their assessment as to whether the coordination of their courses met and/or exceeded their expectations. Robin has also worked to organize and manage a company’s trade show needs, ensuring the company could exhibit with a booth that was set up properly and professional[y and was staffed to achieve desired results. Currently Robin is doing contract work, including working registrations for conventions, being a Learning Event Manager at major oil and gas corporations, managing logistics, printing, and administrative needs for training meetings, working as an on-site meeting manager of medical meetings for national meetings and events companies and managing the VIP area and its volunteers for the Houston Metropolitan Cooking & Entertainment Show. We are based in Orlando, one of the busiest event locations in the world.
