to enhance their mission. “The mission of Gilda’s Club is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. In 2002, he began working as a Part 135 aircraft line technician for Gold Aviation Services & Dolphin Atlantic. Helping to maintain a fleet of Charter Aircraft demands a lot of attention to detail. With scrutiny from the FAA, the many diverse clients that flew in the planes, the aircraft owners, the Director of Maintenance and the company’s customer service staff you can imagine all the many different viewpoints Michael encountered. This type of experience pushes an A&P to choose between doing what the book says needs to be done or taking the extra step and doing everything you can to ensure all parties inputs are treated with care and respect. Safety is first but it’s not the one and only consideration when maintaining an aircraft. As Gold Aviation grew and needs arose within the Company, Michael began taking on a range of responsibilities; Accounting, Customer Relations {both Internal & External}, Contract Negotiation, Federal & State Tax Compliance, Acquisition Planning, Aircraft Company Structures, Aircraft Insurance {Fleet & Individual}, Maintenance Planning & Budgeting, Foreign Aircraft Importation, New & Used Aircraft Acceptance Inspections and the many tasks in between. If you are in the business of operating aircraft than you know how valuable this kind of experience is. If you are in a different business that requires aircraft as a tool to make you more efficient than you need people that have this experience. Depending on the type of aircraft you have, you may need multiple people. Michael has a passion to ensure your flying metal or composite craft which is full of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and human systems is kept at the ready for you to use it, business or pleasure. Michael is proud to be an American, where at least he knows he’s free, so he choose to serve in the military after high school in Perry, NY. He trained as a heavy equipment mechanic at Fort Knox Kentucky working on M1 Abrahams Main Battle Tank (powered by a jet turbine engine) and the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. He camped out in the desert at White Sands Missile Base in NM and spent 2 years in Germany. Based with an artillery unit in Babenhausen Germany he was tasked with keeping the Howitzers, MLRS Launchers and supporting equipment ready to roll. Some of the best times were spent living in a tent in Grafenwoehr for months at a time, eating MREs and performing recon missions to ensure the local pubs were keeping the beer warm. When it was time to put his A&P License to good use he loaded up his truck and he moved the family. Michael accepted an offer to work for Gold Aviation Services, Inc. as a line technician. As the years past at Gold he became integrally involved with the entire operation helping to write manuals, securing insurance for the fleet, reviewing and writing various management, lease and other agreements. He managed the HR and accounting departments as well as assisted with customer service, charter, flight and maintenance operations. Having been involved with assisting a variety of aircraft owners, their pilots, aviation accountants, attorneys and the like, Michael has the ability to help make Aircraft Ownership the pleasure and productive experience it should be. Gold was one of Embraer’s first Fleet Customer’s and Michael was intimately involved with the entire process of purchasing, acceptance, delivery and after delivery support. He has traveled to São José dos Campos, Brazil numerous times to inspect and accept some of the earliest serial numbers of the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 aircraft and continues to make this process less taxing on the buyer and buyer’s staff today. Having been part of many deliveries he has encountered a variety of challenges and found ways to work through them all. With little to no personnel in the world experienced with the new Legacy 500, Michael was called upon to inspect, accept and deliver one of the first to enter the United States. The Owner and his Chief Pilot knew they could count on Michael to help provide a successful acceptance and delivery. Captain Marcelo Romanelli is a Senior International Corporate Captain with a worldwide Corporate Aviation experience. With a Twenty-seven years career, thirteen Type Rates from light to heavy jets, he received also the Check Airman and Flight Instructor Credentials in China (CAAC), Greece (HCAA), Brazil (ANAC), been a Flight Instructor in USA. Captain Romanelli has a large experience managing Business Jets and Corporate Flight Departments in a Aircraft Manufactory Industry and Corporations, been designated Pilot in Command for a State Authorities Transportation, like the Brazilian Republic President and the United Kingdom Prime Minister.
