In normal (sun) light, the vision of cone cells dominates and is photopic vision. There is good visual acuity and color discrimination. Global Tech LED modules mimic sun light (CCT 5700K) with strong blue-green spectrums, by doing so visual acuity and therefore safety at night is drastically improved. LED light produces more lumens in spectrums that increase visual acuity than any other light source (excluding the Sun). He worked for both distributers and utilities in the demand side management field for over 25 years before relocating to Florida to form Global Tech LED with Gary Mart, Jr. Over the next three years they have expanded Global Tech LED into a multi-million dollar LED enterprise using innovative inventions and concepts in lighting systems, manufacturing, sales and distribution. The incandescent light bulb, popularized by Thomas Edison and other inventors, passes electricity through a wire filament until the wire becomes so hot it produces visible electromagnetic radiation (visible light). While the incandescent light bulb was a radical disrupter that helped spur the growth of cities and millions of other applications, it’s proved to be inefficient compared to today’s technology. These new bulbs are nearly twice as efficient than alternative options (155 lumens per watt compared to 79 lumens per watt for metal halide) and often last more than 25 times as long. Over the course of an LED’s lifetime, this difference can result in massive savings. In real-life terms, if you were to take a 400 Watt Metal Hallide bulb and replace it with Global Tech LED’s Solstice 5498, you could see savings of $140 per year. To fully appreciate and utilize this technology, it is important to understand just how LED’s work. Solid State Lighting (also known as LEDs) were first invented in 1962 by General Electric researcher Nick Holonyak, Jr. His technology used very small light bulbs that were illuminated by the movement of electrons on a semiconductor chip. Using two leads (diode), electrons release energy in the form of luminescence (electroluminescence). While this technology was first used for red indicator lights, it was quickly improved and adapted for a variety of other settings and color ranges. Now, Light Emitting Diodes are used in everything from computers to commercial lighting fixtures.
