Parekh earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami. As a young, independent woman she attended college while holding down a full-time job at one of South Florida’s premier yoga studios, where she was promoted to Director of Operations at the age of 21. During her time at the yoga studio, Parekh maintained all the day-to-day functions of a flourishing business while helping to steer the company’s rapid financial growth. Parekh’s current career path in communications and public relations has led her to work with one of the nation’s leading hospice companies. Working for a hospice company has enabled Parekh to appreciate the privilege of being alive she said. Her ultimate goal in life is to serve humanity. To her, small contributions are just as necessary as large contributions and every effort and goodwill gesture can make a difference. When asked why she chose to launch Global Peace Scout, Parekh said: For a long time I had been thinking about a way I could express what’s in my heart and share it with the world. Then, one day, I had the idea of Peace Badges.
