When I was twenty years old, working as a cashier at Quik Mart, I read a book that outlined a great strategy for saving and investing money, written by a guy who began working for $48 a week but retired with a couple million dollars in cash and assets. So, at twenty years old, I knew what to do, but I did not start doing it until twenty-five years later. Laurick lives in South Florida with his wife, Kim, and their two sons, Joshua and Jawanza. He was the youngest of 11 children and grew up in the James E. Scott Housing Projects of Liberty City. He graduated from Miami Central High School (Go Rockets!), then worked his way through Miami-Dade College, earning a degree in Business Administration. He is a long-time member of Polaris Investment Club (West Palm Beach, Florida), which is a Chapter of Better Investing. Unless you are a numbers person or accounting thrills you, budgeting can be boring and tedious. There are computer programs and Apps which help, and I suggest you find one that works for you. There is also the good old fashioned way of keeping your receipts and a ledger, but I don’t want to risk being labeled as an antique dealer.
