After Gina’s husband left active duty and the family moved to Florida, Gina was looking for something a stay-at-home mom could do while the kids were sleeping to earn some extra money.  So, Gina's Originals was born in 1992 to make handcrafted items to sell at local craft fairs.   For several years, Gina expanded the types of items she was creating and in 1995, she discovered home embroidery.  She began doing stock and custom embroidery and kept increasing the size of the business.  By 2001, she had grown so large that she began to look at opening her own shop.  Gina’s Originals, Inc was incorporated in 2002 and she opened a storefront location at the corner of Alafaya Trail and Colonial Drive.  The store was very successful for many years, but the recession of 2008 was taking a toll on many businesses and many of Gina’s customers.  In the beginning of 2012, Gina left her storefront and operated by appointment only from a location in Avalon Park.  The move to Avalon Park has been even better than expected.  By not having a dedicated storefront, Gina is able to serve her customers even better by being able to meet them outside of a dedicated storefront making it very convenient to do business with her.  The ability to conduct business through email, phone, and web only adds to this flexibility.  Gina and her staff have been serving the East Orlando community for more than 23 years and she and the Gina’s Originals, Inc. staff will continue to serve this area and beyond for many more.
