Our extensive Project Portfolio shows our diversity. The Ever Expanding Teams of Giles Electric Company: Bradley S. Giles “Brad” has become the leader of organized electrical contractors in Flagler, Volusia and Brevard counties through tenacious hard work and a common sense approach to business and the community. Born in 1966 and raised in Daytona Beach, Brad has found that working closely with community leaders and giving back to his trade provides the most satisfaction in his day to day work. Brad graduated Spruce Creek High School in 1984 and studied both at Daytona State College as well as Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He enrolled in the Don Morgan Electrical Academy in 1987, obtaining his Florida Electrical Journeyman’s license in 1989. Soon after, he left the field and went to work for his entrepreneurial Father Art Giles, in their electrical contracting firm (G.E.C.I.) which was est. in 1970. Utilizing a self directed curriculum provided by the National Electrical Contractors Assoc., he completed numerous courses in Estimating, Project Management, Finance and Business Administration. In 1994 Brad obtained his State of Florida Unlimited Electrical Contractors License (EC#1538) and was soon made the V.P. of Giles Electric. After proving his abilities time and time again working with his Father, they arranged a Buy-out agreement in 2000, which signaled the beginning of great things to come. Since that time, Brad has held numerous positions in the industry as well as spear heading countless innovative new approaches to improving the industry overall. All the while he has simultaneously grown Giles customer base and expanded the company's position as a leader in the Central Florida area, which continues through today. Byron Overstreet graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in 1991 after earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration in management. Following college, Byron completed the NECA/IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship, graduating as the top apprentice of his class in 1996. Four years later, Byron became a JATC (Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee) executive board member. By fulfilling this position, he is responsible for protecting the integrity of education these apprentices receive. In 2005, Byron became a state certified electrical contractor. After gaining 17 years of experience in his field, he was promoted to Vice President of Giles Electric Company. Byron’s main focus as VP of Giles Electric is very broad, as he manages day-to-day operations of the company. Analyzing and creating reports, liaising and directing employees from every department, presenting findings to the President, overseeing all jobs, and measuring staff performance would name a few of his responsibilities. Byron has previously worked at the capacity of an electrician, job foreman, project manager, and estimator of projects of various magnitudes. In addition to his other professional accomplishments, Byron has served as Vice President of the Electrical Council of Florida since 2012, holding the position of Vice President at NECA’s North Florida chapter as well. Alden typically oversees the larger scale Industrial & Educational facility projects for the Giles Team, and has held numerous positions with the company over his 38 years of employment history. His Father was previously a long term Giles Staff Member, working with the Founder Art Giles since the companies inception. His background includes graduating from Florida Technical University , with a degree in Construction Engineering, after a 4 year tour of duty in the U. S. Navy. After graduating he completed an Electrical Apprenticeship IBEW working with Farmer Electric and Giles Electric where he oversaw numerous large scale projects, including locally Cloverleaf Condominiums and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Alden received a Specialty Industrial Education Certificate along with numerous certifications and committee appointments over the span of his career. Alden's passion is successfully competing and winning jobs through the Bid Process, and he takes personal pride in "beating Giles competitors" and winning "the game". He is currently a Member of the I.B.E.W., N.E.C.A. and E.C.F. In his off time he enjoys boating, fishing, outdoor activities, and sharing time with his family, especially his Grandchildren. Dave Stout has been an integral part of the Giles Team since joining in 1983, and is considered one of the "Founding Fathers" of the company. Dave began his professional career as a young man enlisting in the U. S. Air Force, performing maintenance and ordinance handling for various cutting edge fighter jets at McDill Air Force Base, Florida. Prior to becoming a staff member of Giles, he completed his IBEW Apprenticeship Program, graduating at the top of his class, and has remained a member in good standing of both the IBEW and NECA Electrical Organizations, including working as a 4th & 5th Level Apprenticeship Program Instructor, turning out over 50 new technicians into the field. He is considered a leader in the local Electrical Technician Field, holding a "NICET Level 4" Certification, making him suitable for plan approval for the highest military and government required type of electrical installations. Dave is definitely part of the base foundation of the Giles Team, and one of the leaders for the next generation of technicians as they are being trained. He currently specializes in Low Voltage Installation Management, but also works various types of projects for the Team wherever his expertise is most required. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and remains involved in many different activities and events, centering around the electrical industry and related organizations.
